About Majorca and Palma

About Mallorca

Majorca

Any time of year is good to visit Mallorca. This island, part of the Balearic archipelago has 550 kilometres of coast. This coastline is outstanding, above all, for its stunning beauty, home to some of the Mediterranean's most attractive beaches and coves. The broad, ochre and white sandy beaches of the southeast, offering a full range of facilities and services, contrast with the hidden coves of the north - often small inlets between cliffs and pine groves. The entire coast has one common denominator, however; crystal-clear, turquoise, azure blue water that you will want to swim in.

Back on dry land, the golf speaks for itself, with excellent facilities and courses that blend perfectly with their surroundings. Get your clubs ready and put your skills to the test. In addition Mallorca boasts the exclusive Palma with it’s wonderful architecture, fabulous, designer shops, cool bars and top cuisine in its many sumptuous restaurants. A good example of the unique night life is an experience called “Abaco”

Come to Mallorca at any time of the year to enjoy its warm climate, some of the Mediterranean’s finest white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, fantastic food and adjoining islands steeped in culture and the busy resorts for the more active and those wanting a more vibrant holiday.. Kick back and relax on a tailor made excursion from Azuri Events.

The Abaco bar must be one of the most unusual bars in Mallorca. It is on Calle Sant Joan in the La Lonja district of Palma, and surprisingly easy to miss from the street as it is hidden behind a rather unassuming looking wooden door. Miss this at your peril however, it is one of Palma's most delightful institutions. You're not going to see many locals here but it's touristy in the best possible way. It is a visual delight, and the atmosphere is very low-key with only the sounds of the tinkling courtyard fountain, the songbirds, and polite chatter in the background. The interior is a 16th century converted palace with candlelight, masses of fresh flowers and fruit spilling everywhere. The cocktails are expensive, about 15 euros, but they are worth it - and you can also just ask for an ordinary drink…a beer or glass of wine, though these are not shown on the menu. . Do not drink more than two cocktails because they are very strong. The ice cream too, is wonderful, the music is classical and the waiters are very attentive. Do not try to take photographs or you will be asked to leave. Open from 2000hrs every evening. On Friday at midnight rose petals are scattered from the ceiling and it really is beautiful. Well worth a visit

About Palma

There are two wildly different Mallorca’s; one which delights the bucket-and-spade weilding masses and one that has served as a playground for the rich and famous since the 1930s heyday of the island. Despite the thousands that pass through its airport every day, Palma belongs very definitely to the latter, with a stylish array of boutique hotels and high-class restaurants gracing its beautifully preserved medieval buildings. A busy, working city, Palma is home to over half the island’s population. For further information please visit:
